Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn is a computer Role-Playing Games developed by bioware and released on September 26, 2000. The game is the sequel to Baldur’s Gate, and, opening only a few months after the events of the earlier game, continues the story of the player character, whose unique heritage has now gained him the attention of a new personage, Jon Irenicus.

Features

• Graphics are high resolution and more detailed.
•  music is great, and there are more voices for the various NPCs you encounter.
• It’s much more linear than Baldur’s Gate, and the world is smaller, but to make up for it places, people and events are all more fleshed out.
• There are fewer quests, but this time around they are much more involved and usually require more than the usual “bring me my ring/amulet/dagger/whatever”.
•  Special mention goes to the game’s main villain, voiced by English actor David Warner.
• the frequent battles are real-time, but can be paused at any time with the space key. You may then think over tactical decisions, issue new orders or chose a spell
• With over 300 magical formulae, the repertoire has almost tripled since Badur’s Gate.
• The weapon categories have been split up; instead of specializing in blades, you now have to chose between long swords, two-handed swords, bastard swords, katanas and scimitars. All in all, there are 20 weapon categories and 4 fighting skills like “two weapons”.
